MWH is a full-service global consulting, engineering and construction company. As a recognized world leader in energy, water, waste, infrastructure and environmental management, we are at the forefront of integrated sustainable solutions.

In all our operations we are guided by our mission to Build a Better World. This especially applies to implementing development programmes in transitional and developing countries and thereby contributing to improving quality of life for local population. We aim to deliver aid-programmes by proving unrivaled consulting services.

Initially opened in Brussels in 1997 and now based in La Hulpe, the MWH Belgium office is dedicated to International Development in the fields of energy and natural resources, environment and climate change, water and sanitation and agriculture and rural development. We have also developed a service line focusing on communication and large event organisation for our clients. We provide technical assistances and study services to international institutions and development banks such as the European Commission (EC), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the World Bank, the African Development Bank (ADB), EU bilateral donors, and governments and government agencies.

Our main geographical focus is on Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. We have specific and extensive experience in all of the countries of the Indian Ocean and we are currently actively engaged in with projects in Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar and Zanzibar.

MWH Belgium employs a team of permanent staff members including civil and environmental engineers, climate change experts, environmentalist, economists, lawyers, anthropologists, sociologists, gender specialist, finance and procurement specialists, agriculture, recruitment and marketing experts and logistics and communication professionals.

International Development around the globe

The MWH international development team is also organized globally and can count on specific resources and international development units, working together on projects in key locations around the globe: Brussels (Belgium), Washington D.C. (USA) and Auckland (New Zealand). Founded in 1997, the Belgian team, located very close of the European capital, implements international development programmes and projects, mostly for the European Union and other European donors. The team works on projects that ultimately contribute to improving the quality of life for local populations in transitional and developing countries in different parts of the world, with a focus on Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and the Africa, Caribbean, Pacific (ACP) and Indian Ocean regions. The US team located in Washington D.C. works on projects in different parts of the world, mostly funded by USAID and the Millennium Challenge Corporation. In New Zealand, MWH specialists from Auckland implement projects for the Asian Development Bank and the Japanese government, mainly on the Asian continent.
