Education: BA International Relations, Diploma Indonesian Language, Masters Business Administration, Masters Project Management
Job Overview: Non-technical project management and project controls
How I ended up at MWH: I started as Business Services Leader for the Transport Network Reconstruction Program in Queensland, and got the opportunity to extend my experience in project controls and contract administration on the same program. Prior to this I was working in Kenya as a project manager.
What is on my desk right now: A clients project for upgrading on-farm irrigation infrastructure in Northern Victoria.
Free time activities: Travel, reading and painting.
Best career advice I’ve ever received: 1. Be authentic – you will never be successful if you are trying to be someone you are not. Learning new skills is good, but mimicking a portrait of what success is meant to look like is unhealthy and un-productive in the long run.
2. Being thrown in at the deep end can be a great learning experience. In this case, keep asking questions; there is never a silly question.
