MWH has a long track record in Turkey, demonstrating its commitment through being one of very few multinational consulting companies to establish its own registered Turkish company employing local staff. We have been operating in Turkey since 1999, providing services in the fields of water resources, hydroelectric engineering, environmental engineering and infrastructure. The main office has been in Istanbul since 2010, where it is now home to a team of 15 and growing, expanding its services to water, environmental and energy related projects.
Among several ongoing projects in Turkey, MWH leads several sustainable energy credit lines – TurSEFF (Turkey Private Sector Sustainable Energy Financing Facility), TurEEFF (Turkish Residential Energy Efficiency Financing Facility) and MidSEFF (Private Sector Mid–Size Sustainable Energy Financing Facility) – on behalf of the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) and the EIB (European Investment Bank), to support Turkish businesses in developing sustainable, green energy initiatives.
MWH is also leading an ongoing project in the environmental sector - Technical Assistance and Supervision for Water and Wastewater Project- for the historical city of Erzurum, in eastern Turkey. Other ongoing projects include developing a drainage and hydrogeology assessment plan for a US military installation.
