Qualifications and skills
- University degree in engineering or in economics or in business administration, or equivalent.
- A relevant post-graduate qualification in an energy related field will be favoured.
General professional experience
- Minimum 15 years professional experience in the energy sector. Experience above 25 years will be ignored for the purpose of the evaluation of tenders.
Specific professional experience
- At least 5 years of successful experience (i.e. a total of 60 man-months) in assisting governments of developing countries in preparing sector plans and programmes (policies, strategies, road maps etc.) - preferably in the energy sector with emphasis on increasing access to modern and sustainable energy services;
- Successful experience as team leader or deputy team leader in managing similar institutional building projects: at least 1 contract – and preferably 3 or more - with a minimum approved input (cumulative, if over more than 1 project) of 220 working days or 12 man-months;
- Experience in private sector energy projects will be considered an advantage;
- Experience in renewable energy or energy efficiency projects is a must;
- Knowledge of procedures for EU procedures will be an advantage.
