Objectives of the project:
The overall objective is to increase the resilience of ACP regions and countries, to climate change and achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in particular its Goal 13 “Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts” in order to alleviate poverty and promote sustainable development.
The specific objective (outcome) is better regional and national adaptation and mitigation responses to climate change challenges faced by ACP countries at operational, institutional and financial levels .
Qualifications and skills
- At least a master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field (Climate ChangeIEnvironment/Natural Resources management or other relevant disciplines)
- Fluent in both English and French; excellent drafting skills in both English and French,
- Good presentation skills
General professional experience:
- At least 5 years of professional experience the field of Climate Change and Environment sector development;
Specific professional experience:
- Relevant experience in the provision of Climate ChangeIEnvironmentIManagement of Natural Resources technical assistance;
- Good knowledge of Climate Change Negotiations and the development aspects of the Paris Agreement, in particular;
- Experience acquired managing EU funded programmes in ACP countries would be an advantage;
Other preferred requirements: Experience in Climate Change I Environment conventions negotiations process; experience managing/implementing development cooperation programmes; experience in monitoring development cooperation programmes
