Since 1992, LIFE has co-financed over 4,000 environmental and nature conservation projects in all of the 28 Member States of the European Union, supporting the development and implementation of EU environmental and climate policy. The programme, which was recently renewed with a budget of €3.4 billion for the period between 2014 and 2020, aims to contribute to the achievement of the objectives and targets of the Europe 2020 Strategy as well as the EU’s environment and climate strategies and plans.
The European Commission annually receives over 1,000 proposals for projects with European added value in the field of nature and biodiversity, environment, resource efficiency as well as climate action. MWH provides assistance and technical support in order to ensure a fully independent, fair and transparent evaluation process for these proposals submitted under the LIFE annual calls for action grants (all thematic areas) and operating grants for European Environmental NGOs.
