Zygi Zurakowski
Lead Geotechnical Engineer, Americas Region
Mr. Zurakowski is a Lead Geotechnical Engineer who specializes in the management of mine waste, tailing and water and is experienced conducting and leading feasibility studies, permitting, and detailed designs in the mining industry. He is experienced with all stages of Tailing Storage Facility design and provides operational support including development and maintenance of site-wide water/chemical mass balances that are used for forecasting mine water flows/demands/losses/excesses and storage, evaluating risks, and reporting purposes. Mr. Zurakowski uses risk-based methods to help mine operators and management make informed, cost effective decisions. He is an experienced user of GoldSim software and has taught short courses on water balances and mine water management at leading international conferences, and has also conducted site-specific training for mine personnel. Mr. Zurakowski has worked at mine sites in North America, Central America, South America and Australasia.
