The annual award given by the Denver Business Journal recognizes women of excellence in business and community.

Broomfield, Colo., August 26, 2014 – MWH Global, the premier solutions provider focused on water and natural resources for built infrastructure and the environment announced today that Meg VanderLaan, chief communications officer, has been named one of the year’s Outstanding Women in Business by the Denver Business Journal. The annual award recognizes women of excellence in business and community.

Chosen out of a field of more than 138 nominees, Meg was one of 33 finalists selected in 12 categories for the award which judges candidates on their innovation, entrepreneurship, professional accomplishment and community leadership. Meg, who was an award finalist in 2013, was recognized for her accomplishments in the Communication, Media and Public Relations category. Other categories included Architecture, Engineering and Construction, Banking, Finance and Accounting, Education, Government and Nonprofits, Health Care, Large Business Owner, Law, Mile High Leaders, Real Estate, Small Business Owner, Technology and Telecom and Lifetime Achievement.
