Broomfield, Colo., January 20, 2014, - MWH Global, the wet infrastructure sector leader and provider of strategic consulting, technical engineering and construction services, has announced today that for the second consecutive year, MWH has donated $100,000 to Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB-USA) for 2014, a nonprofit humanitarian organization that supports community-driven development programs worldwide through sustainable engineering projects. This donation continues the partnership between EWB-USA and MWH, which began in 2013 with an initial $100,000 contribution.
The 2014 gift will help fund the organization’s operations, and $20,000 of the overall donation will directly support EWB-USA’s Projects Grant Program. Specifically, the funds earmarked for the grant program will allow established EWB-USA chapters with active MWH members to apply for dollars to support their chapter projects through an application process administered by EWB-USA. Participation in the grant program connects MWH to projects involving MWH staff members, and this is a new addition to the EWB-USA and MWH partnership in 2014.
“Our partnership with EWB-USA fits our driving purpose of Building a Better World,” said Joseph Adams, president of the Energy & Industry sector for MWH. “Our company is active around the world, and we encourage our employees to be involved in bettering the communities in which we live and work. Our continued donation allows us to support our employee volunteer efforts.”
Adams is a member of the Corporate Leadership Council at EWB-USA, which serves in an advisory capacity to the Board of Directors to ensure that the organization is viewed as “investment grade” by the corporate community.
“We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with MWH Global,” said Cathy Leslie, EWB-USA’s Executive Director. “The company’s continued investment in our mission is indicative of our shared values to build a better world.”
The initial donation in 2013 from MWH enabled EWB-USA to mobilize the organization’s 300+ chapters to implement innovative and appropriate solutions with its partner communities. As a result, children can cross sturdy bridges to attend school, clinics have consistent supplies of electricity, and families can access clean water.
