MWH staff at the Genale Dawa 3 project in Ethiopia recently participated in a charity Fun Run to raise money for a local Genale school. The team partnered with the projects Chinese contractor to create the 10km race around the project site.
More than 90 people participated in this event raising over 20,000 Birr. The funds raised will be used by the school to purchase much needed desks and sporting equipment.
The Genale Dawa 3 project is located 650km south-east of Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital. The hydropower plant will have a total installed capacity of 255 MW. This is the third hydropower project MWH has built in Ethiopia. Other previous MWH projects included the Tekeze and Finachaa-Amerti-Neshe Hydropower projects.
Way to go team!
