
Art Umble
Earlier in April, the Water Environment Federation (WEF) and Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF) Boards approved a new Steering Committee for the Leaders Innovation Forum for Technology (LIFT) program, which included Art Umble, Americas Wastewater Practice Leader for MWH Global.
LIFT is a multi-pronged initiative undertaken by WERF and WEF to help bring new water technology to the field quickly and efficiently.
The LIFT Steering Committee consists of eight individuals representing municipal and industrial facility owners, consulting, academia, and technology providers. Additionally, the Steering Committee includes liaisons to federal agencies, the WERF Research Council, and designated WEF Committees.
The inaugural LIFT Steering Committee members are:

- Charles Bott, Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD)
- Jim McQuarrie, Metro Wastewater Reclamation District (Denver)
- Tom Kunetz, Metropolitan Wastewater Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRDGC)
- John Barber, Eastman Chemical
- Nancy Love, University of Michigan
- Jeff Peeters, GE Power and Water
