The Alewife Stormwater Wetlands – An Urban Environmental Marvel video beat off stiff competition from creative firms worldwide to win two Gold Awards at this year’s prestigious MARCOM Awards competition.
The 4-minute video, produced in-house at MWH by Cameron McWilliam, senior communications specialist, and Travis Bush, video production manager, tells the story of how MWH used computer modeling to help alleviate stormwater flooding in Cambridge, MA by creating a stormwater wetland that enhanced water quality and provided recreational benefits to the community. The video received top honors in the Web Video category for the exceeding high industry standards for quality communications, winning best marketing video and best YouTube video.
The MARCOM Awards, administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, is an international creative competition for individuals and companies involved in the development and production of print, visual, audio and web materials and programs. Entries come from corporate marketing and communications departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. The annual competition draws entries from media conglomerates and Fortune 50 companies around the world, with approximately 6,000 entries submitted each year, making it one of the largest creative competitions of its kind in the world.
