The Asset Standards Authority is changing the way engineering services are delivered for the NSW rail network. The ASA is fostering best practice and the growth of engineering capability and capacity within industry through the authorisation of organisations to effectively provide engineering services on the NSW rail network. The ASA expects that this will enhance knowledge transfer across industries and provide organisations with greater flexibility to deliver assets without compromising safety.
Organisations which provide engineering services for the NSW rail network or use standards under the Asset Standards Authority control should consider seeking authorisation as an Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO).
The AEO program is intended to improve the ability of the public and private sector to collaboratively deliver and maintain NSW rail network assets faster, cheaper, better and safely.
The AEO accreditation marks a key milestone for our Australian business in achieving our goal of:
- being a top tier transport engineering firm well respected in the transport industry and
- establishing a strong relationship with Transport for NSW (TfNSW).
Also throughout the AEO process MWH has learnt and grown as a business by identifying:
- key areas of improvement within our systems and processes
- innovations and new ideas
- areas in which we do well, and to expand upon
The AEO process has highlighted key areas in setting high standards of delivery and assisting MWH to set a benchmark of excellence and further develop our vision of “building a better world” through the delivery of our projects.
The AEO accreditation is held in high regard within our business as it:
- allows TfNSW and its teams to recognise MWH and our skills for future works
- allows MWH to build a strong relationship with TfNSW
- provides a clear process and guidelines for continual improvement and growth
- provides proven capability and credibility to potential partnering bodies in constructors and other engineering firms working for TfNSW
- raises the profile of MWH within the NSW Transport Sector and other clients who recognise the AEO system and processes
