MWH Regional Director Wessam Daoud presents at the Arab Women
in Leadership and Business Summit

MWH sponsored and presented at the recent Arab Women in Leadership and Business Summit as part of the company’s Women’s initiative in the Middle East. The summit provides a platform for women to seek their highest level of professional development by providing them with information, strategies, insights and perspectives on leadership.

The event was attended by most of the female MWH staff in our Middle East offices, including Shaikha Alshaikh, civil engineer from Dubai; Eman Radhi, senior design engineer from Manama (Bahrain); and Athari Alnaqbi, project engineer from Abu Dhabi. The three were also featured in a marketing brochure promoting MWH Global solutions for clients in the Middle East.

The summit provided a way for participants to connect and interact with some of the most senior-level Arab women working in the private and public sectors within the United Arab Emirates. The interactive summit also provided opportunities for attendees to participate in panel discussions on the obstacles and opportunities for women in this region.

In addition to this summit, MWH also held an open discussion with female employees in our Dubai office to review our core value of increasing workforce diversity by hiring and retaining female talent.

“Attending a summit that’s goal is to support and empower women in our region was very insightful,” noted Shaikha. “I managed to meet and hear about a lot of the success stories of Arab women and take in advice on how to handle the current workforce in order to achieve the same level of success, if not more. It was great mixing with women who managed to get listed on Forbes World’s 100 Most Powerful Arab Women.”
