Joan Oppenheimer MWHJoan Oppenheimer, principal environmental scientist for MWH Global based in Pasadena, was recently appointed to the Editorial Board of the Journal American Water Works Association. The Journal, which has the largest circulation of any water journal in the world, is received by over 50,000 people. Its sponsoring organization, the American Water Works Association (AWWA), was founded in 1881 and is widely viewed as the authoritative resource on water issues.

In her role, Joan will: 1) provide advice and direction regarding content in order to continually improve the value of the Journal to its members, and 2) ensure that a high level of peer review of articles submitted for publication, which is critical to scholarly achievement, is achieved. Joan, herself, is author of numerous peer-review articles on water and wastewater quality and treatment. She is a member of the Research Advisory Committee for the WateReuse Research Foundation and is a Board Certified Environmental Scientist.
