MWH Constructors announced today it has hired two new directors of industrial construction to enhance its team of professionals focused on the design and construction of wet infrastructure.

Thomas E. DeMayo will lead the firm’s industrial operations and business pursuits for the eastern U.S. region and John T. DeMaio will have similar responsibility for the western half of the United States.

“We are making an investment in our energy, manufacturing and mining clients,” said Blair M. Lavoie, PE, senior vice president and director of U.S. operations for MWH Constructors. “I am excited about the talent, expertise and experience that both gentlemen bring to the MWH Constructors management team.”

As a former senior project manager on a high-profile $300 million energy project in the northeast and vice president at AECOM New York, the addition of DeMayo to the MWH Constructors team in the eastern U.S. will enhance the firm’s energy and power plant service offerings throughout the country. DeMayo has a BS in Civil Engineering from Manhattan College in New York.

DeMaio brings broad management and field experience to the MWH Constructors team in the areas of solar, waste-to-energy, manufacturing, power plants, water and wastewater on a variety of small and large commercial and industrial projects. DeMaio has a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University in New York.

John DeMaio will be located in the firm’s Walnut Creek, California office and Thomas DeMayo will be located in MWH’s Tampa, Florida office.
