MWH has hired Michael Manwaring to serve as the firm’s hydropower sector leader for North America.
He will provide leadership to the growth strategy for the company’s dam and hydropower business in North America, focusing on superior client service and project delivery.
Manwaring brings nearly 20 years of technical, business development and project management experience to the position. Mike joins MWH after serving as national marketing director for HDR’s hydropower division, where he focused on hydropower and pumped storage markets across the U.S. and Canada. His previous experience includes client, project and regulatory management positions with a focus on a variety of engineering and environmental disciplines, including hydropower, water resources, energy storage, pumped storage and FERC licensing projects.
“Mike is an industry veteran and will bring superior leadership to the position of hydropower sector leader for our North American operations,” said Mario Finis, global director of hydropower and dams for MWH. “MWH has been working on hydropower and dams projects across North America for nearly 100 years, and Mike will be an important part of our plan to grow strategically in coming years.”
Manwaring is a licensed professional geologist in California, and currently serves in leadership roles with the National Hydropower Association and the Northwest Hydroelectric Association. He has a Bachelor of Science in Geology from State University of New York at Fredonia and a Master of Science in Engineering Geology from Kent State University. He is based in Bellevue, Wash.
