MWH VolunteerMWH staff based at Head Office in the UK recently donated a ‘mini food mountain’ to a local charity organisation, Warrington Foodbank. The Warrington Office Community Engagement Group led by MWH Civil Engineer, Rachel Meadwell coordinated the successful event collating all the donated items for transportation to the charity organisation.

MWH staff donated various non-perishable items along with volunteering staff Meghan Dobson, Alison Bradley, Rebecca Flint, Richard Maxwell and Arnaud Carras visiting a local supermarket branch over the weekend period. Their challenge was to encourage shoppers to donate an item to the Warrington Food Bank collection from their weekly shop and their powers of persuasions helped to secure further generous donations.

The final total for the food collected was an astounding 511 boxes of food.

“Golden Gates Housing Trust said; “Please thank all the staff who came down and helped out over the three days, your assistance was much appreciated.”

The foodbank is run in partnership with local churches lead by the YMCA in Warrington, UK and provides food for local people in crisis. For more information please visit warrington.foodbank.org.uk.
