Thorton_BrownBroomfield, Colo., Jan. 18, 2013 – MWH Global, the global wet infrastructure sector leader and provider of strategic consulting, environmental engineering and construction services, today announced industry consulting veteran Brown Thornton will lead the MWH management consulting team’s energy sector for the Americas region. Thornton brings nearly 30 years of consulting experience in the energy market.

“We are very fortunate to have Brown join our management consulting leadership team,” said Dan McConville, president of business solutions for MWH. “Brown brings an extensive knowledge of the energy market combined with deep consulting experience. We look forward to bringing his expertise to our current and future clients.”

In his new role at MWH, Thornton is responsible for leading the energy sector management consulting team, engaging with key clients, and identifying client needs and appropriate consulting solutions.

Thornton specializes in utility management, financial management and analysis, rate studies, power supply and transmission planning, strategic business planning, and process review and organizational studies for energy clients. Prior to joining MWH, Thornton worked for SAIC where he served as the utility consulting practice director. Thornton also worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority in operations and project management.

Thornton earned a master’s degree in business from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., and a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tenn. He is a licensed professional engineer in Tennessee and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He is based in Nashville, Tenn.
