Balancing the pressures of little rainfall and an ever-increasing population is challenging and requires strategic partnerships with regional leaders in the state of Florida. As Phil Waller, vice president for MWH Global, explains in a podcast for the Florida Chamber of Commerce, regional partnerships are one key to addressing future issues. These partnerships can go a long way to help improve Florida’s quality of life, a big part of which is the environment.
“Water is an important part of sustaining our environment and our ecosystem in Florida,” explains Waller. “It’s good for our businesses for people to want to move to Florida and it helps us grow our businesses. Having a good quality of life and adequate water supply is important for our businesses to grow and it’s also important for our state to prosper”
In short: growing Florida’s economy by boosting the state’s competitiveness and creating jobs means taking a united and long-term look at water.
And in this arena, businesses can help.
