Sean_OmearaSydney, Australia, Sept 10, 2012 - Global engineering and consulting firm MWH Global is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Sean O’Meara to their Queensland based position of business development leader for transportation. Mr O’Meara will focus on identifying how MWH can assist public and private sector clients to successfully achieve their objectives of delivering sustainable and value for money infrastructure solutions.
“Relationship development and management is the foundation of any successful project. I am looking forward to building upon the reputation of MWH in the Queensland marketplace by strengthening existing client relationships and building new opportunities and client partnerships with both the public and private sector,” Mr O’Meara said.
This is a vital role given the recent changes and strategic re-prioritisation taking place within the Queensland Government and the ongoing growth of the mining and resources sectors in Queensland.

With over 12 years’ experience in the private and public sector, Mr O’Meara brings an extensive range of existing relationships to the business, as well as a strong technical understanding in infrastructure project evaluation and delivery.

Mr O’Meara joins MWH from his most recent role with BHP - Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) where he was involved in the analysis and evaluation of the performance of their major mining operations in Queensland.

Prior to this, Mr O’Meara held key advisory and leadership roles with the Queensland Government. His work included the oversight and coordination of major infrastructure proposals and feasibility assessments. He was also responsible for the development and management of stakeholder relationships with inter-governmental and private sector stakeholders across a broad range of social and economic infrastructure projects throughout Queensland.

Joining the Department of Transport and Main Roads in 2009 Mr O’Meara worked across significant projects including the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing, the Sunshine Coast Transport Project, Moreton Bay Rail Link, and the Bruce Highway, Yeppen Floodplain Upgrade Project.

With his move to MWH in Queensland, Mr O’Meara looks forward to working alongside the company’s growing team in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Rockhampton.
