My “civilian career” began after returning from Iraq in 2004, where I served as an Army Infantry captain in Mosul. Like many veterans transitioning out of service, I sought job opportunities where my battle-tested leadership and technical competence in complex and challenging environments would allow me to contribute to our future prosperity and security in continued service to the Nation.

After being recruited for many promising prospects, I accepted a position as a wind energy project manager with a startup renewable energy company funded by JP Morgan private equity working with many fellow Service Academy alumni. The mission was to take a wind resource rich area and turn a vision into reality by building trusting relationships with the landowners, communities, environment groups, regulators, utilities and other key stakeholders to develop, build and put these low-carbon, domestic energy projects into operation.

This rationale galvanized over many years in the renewables industry which is what drives me today at MWH where I am a project-oriented, relationship-based advocate and business developer for the hydro sector and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers water infrastructure such as our inland waterways navigation locks & dams modernization.
