MWH Global SVP and Chief Communications Officer delivers keynote address
Broomfield, Colo., February 5, 2015 – MWH Global, the premier solutions provider focused on water and natural resources, announced that Meg VanderLaan, senior vice president and chief communications officer, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree at the Gannon University Winter Commencement ceremony. VanderLaan was the keynote speaker at the event held this past December in Erie, Pennsylvania.
“Given her extraordinary success in her career and in life, Meg VanderLaan is an inspiration for all Gannon University graduates,” said President Keith Taylor, Ph.D. “Her reputation as a master communicator was confirmed by the moving and deeply personal address she gave us at our Winter Commencement exercises.”
A Gannon alumnus and a member of the University’s Board of Trustees since 2012, VanderLaan
was presented with a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2011. Earlier this year, she was honored by the Denver Business Journal with an Outstanding Women in Business award.
“I read once that ‘you can’t go home again’, but that is not the case with Gannon,” said VanderLaan. “It was such a delight to be there with the winter graduates at the place where it all started for me. I am so grateful to have been selected for this honor.”
