On Saturday, May 5, Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) and the construction arm of MWH hosted a community outreach event at the Piedmont Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Piedmont, SC. The event welcomed community members from the surrounding area on site to see the progression of the project. A representative from ReWa and MWH took attendees on a van tour of the site, providing details of the project while answering any questions. ReWa and MWH strive to ensure that community members have the opportunity to be a part of the evolution of this project.
MWH serves as the construction manager-at-risk on the $44.3 million project. The new plant is required to meet new water quality standard for the Saluda River by replacing the existing Grove Creek and Piedmont treatment plants. It is expected to have an initial capacity of 4 million gallons per day (mgd) with plans to expand to 8 mgd and then 12 mgd.
