Ahead of the highly anticipated climate change talks in Paris, Adrian Johnson, technical director and sustainability leader at MWH Global, discusses how the outcomes might affect the water industry.
“Pumping and treating water and wastewater is energy intensive. It has become more so in recent years, particularly as more stringent environmental regulation has led to more treatment.” Adrian says, “As an industry, we should focus more on material efficiency – using less material in the way we consume.”
