Colorado’s energy sector has long been a backbone of its economy. However, the nationwide trend throughout 2015 has been a state of volatility resulting in thousands of lay-offs, closing of drilling rigs, and decreased production numbers.
Conversely, the renewable energy sector is soaring. Numerous large-scale operations have been announced which are anticipated to add 632 megawatts of wind and solar power to Colorado’s production. It appears this growing industry is the way of the future.
Mario Finis, North America Director for Energy & Industry at MWH Global, has been recognized as one of the leaders in the energy sector addressing these very issues as he leads the company’s global hydropower and dam sector. As such, he has been named a “Who’s Who in Energy” by the Denver Business Journal.
