Broomfield, Colorado – The 2004 Virtual Collaboration: Enabling Project Teams and Communities benchmarking study, conducted by American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC), selected MWH as one of five best-practice partners who are effectively leveraging global virtual collaboration techniques to improve business and knowledge processes. The study was sponsored by 17 organizations from a wide variety of industries including healthcare/pharmaceutical, aerospace/defense, chemicals/petroleum, government, oil & gas and engineering/construction. Throughout the extensive report, the APQC study team identified overarching patterns, insights, and findings from best-practice organizations, like MWH, that use virtual collaboration approaches to support project teams and communities with tremendous results.
APQC selected MWH and the other four best-practice partners from firsthand experiences, research, and sponsor recommendations. Each partner then passed through a comprehensive screening process and hosted day-long site visits attended by sponsors, other partners, and members of the study team. From the results, the APQC study team prepared written reports (case studies), identifying and implementing best practices for all types of teams and communities. Sponsor organizations will use the comprehensive study and report to create action plans appropriate to their individual companies.
