Broomfield, Colorado - Douglas G. Smith has joined MWH Global, Inc.’s executive management team as Chief Planning Officer. In this role, Mr. Smith will develop corporate strategies to advance MWH’s overall growth objectives and heighten the company’s global market initiatives.
Mr. Smith has close to 30 years of industry experience and has held a number of high-level leadership roles in both the public and private sector. Most recently, he served as the president of European operations for a global engineering and construction company. In this senior executive role, he provided leadership for operations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia, and quadrupled the organization’s revenue growth over seven years.

Mr. Smith earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Kansas State University and a M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In 1989, the University of Denver awarded him a Juris Doctor and in 1999 he completed a Senior Executive Programme at the London Business School.
