Broomfield, Colorado – Paul F. Boulos, Ph.D, President and Chief Operating Officer of MWH Soft, Inc., a leading global provider of water resources applications software, has been appointed to serve on a prestigious committee of the National Research Council. Effective October 2004, Boulos will join the Committee on Public Water Distribution Systems: Assessing and Reducing Risks.

The goal of the Committee’s two-year study for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) is to help federal, state, and local governments, the water supply industry, and other stakeholders to assess and mitigate public health concerns posed by deterioration of water quality in distribution systems.

The NRC, established in 1916 by the National Academy of Sciences, undertakes studies on the various technologic and scientific questions presented for consideration by federal agencies and other non-governmental institutions, or by mandates of Congress. Committee members are selected expressly for their expertise in the scientific issues.
