Timisoara, Romania — The Romanian Ministry of Finance has awarded MWH a five-year project management and consulting services contract to rehabilitate wastewater treatment facilities and related infrastructure in the City of Timisoara, the western-most city in Romania. The effort includes technical assistance for the management and supervision of the European Union (EU) Instrument for Structural Policies for Pre-Accession (ISPA) contracts.
MWH will manage the procurement of two Works Contracts for (a) a design-build wastewater treatment plant rehabilitation (Financed 71% : 29% by ISPA : Aquatim) and (b) rehabilitation and extension of Timisoara’s sewerage network (Financed by EBRD loan).
As the project manager, MWH will also collaborate with Aquatim, the local water and wastewater utility company, to improve management capabilities in areas that include master planning, operation and maintenance, management information system, business planning and human resources.
