Our collaborative partnership with Severn Trent Water continues to thrive and as a result of great team work the MWH and Severn Trent Water project teams have achieved an outstanding 12 months (which is just shy of one million hours) on site without a lost time incident (LTI). This significant milestone epitomises “MWH SafeStart” our health and safety philosophy. “MWH SafeStart” is the foundation on which we build our way of working.
Key elements include:
- Empowering individuals to positively influence and shape our health and safety culture
- All incidents reported are treated as learning opportunities • Designing out risk • Engaging positively with our employees and supply chain
- Ensuring all our staff are trained and competent
- Promoting best practice across the wider construction industry
Stephen Kennedy, regional director, said, “If each and every day each and every one of us stays focused and watches out for our workmates, before you know it incident free days, add up to weeks, months and years. Stay focused, stay safe.”
Mike Kilbride, regional health and safety manager, said, “MWH Treatment are committed to working to the highest standards in safety and quality and will continue to do so throughout AMP6. Safety is always our number one priority and this outstanding achievement is down to the dedication and hard work put in by everyone involved.”
