Geotechnical & Civil Structures
MWH, now part of Stantec, is known for our capabilities and experience in design and construction, and timely completion of geotechnical and civil engineering projects in complex settings, various site conditions and locations world-wide. The performance and stability of the various components of a mine site are critical, be it a tunnel, foundation, road, dam, or other element, Our approach to the design and construction of these components is to minimize risks to our clients and meet operational and performance objectives.
In addition, we can provide comprehensive civil and geotechnical infrastructure development services under a design/build approach or as an integrated management team with our client. MWH can provide dedicated field engineers and quality assurance technicians for the duration of a project, from initial geotechnical investigations (drilling, sampling, lab testing, instrumentation installation) and completion of design documents to field construction and implementation. In many cases, lead design engineers are also involved with the construction quality assurance (CQA) and construction management aspects of the project to confirm quality in the constructed project.
Our capabilities include the following mine facilities components:
- Tailing storage facilities, dams and ancillary structures
