Mining Sector Leader

MWH VP of Mining, Andrew Watson, has 20 years of experience in the design and construction of infrastructure including dams, mine waste containment facilities and other civil works. He seeks practical solutions to engineering challenges using risk-based decision-making and has been retained by mining companies to advise them on life-of-mine planning, operational improvement, closure planning and management of post-closure liabilities. Andrew has published and presented several papers on managing tailings storage facility risks, mine closure and sustainable mining as well as water management at mines. Andrew holds a BS in civil engineering and is fluent in English, Spanish and Afrikaans.
