Dr. Kati Bell
Water Reuse Practice Leader, Global
Dr. Kati Bell is the Water Reuse Global Practice Leader for MWH with over 20 years of experience. Her work on reclamation projects sums to over 2 billion gallons per day of treatment; and, as a visiting scholar at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Kati is actively involved in applied reuse research focusing on treatment methods in water reclamation. In addition to Kati’s research and project work, she is actively involved in developing industry guidance. She was project manager for the 2012 EPA Guidelines for Water Reuse and is currently providing technical support for the ongoing supplement to this work, documenting the Current State of the Industry of Potable Reuse, anticipated for publication in 2016. She also recently led development of the IUVA/WEF book on UV for Wastewater Disinfection (2015), and is currently developing a guidance document for peracetic acid disinfection with WEF. Kati serves on the state of Tennessee and Georgia expert panels for development of reuse guidance in those states. Kati holds a doctorate in environmental engineering from Vanderbilt University, master’s degrees in civil engineering and biology from Tennessee Technological University, and a bachelor’s in biochemistry from the University of Dallas. She is a licensed professional engineer in four states and is based in Nashville, Tennessee.
